Okay let's just start with these problems:1. The hero "met" the heroine by stalking her. This wasn't even necessary to the plot line and it just made me creeped out by the hero.
2. The storyline is EXTREMELY predictable. I'm betting most of you knew the "twist"/outcome just by reading the description. I know I did.
3. Basically the entire story is the hero lying to the heroine, making up an excuse, the heroine saying "oh I'm never going to forgive him and fall for this again" AND THEN SHE DOES. And repeat. The heroine has no backbone whatsoever. It drove me insane.
4. Instalove. I know one 5-star reviewer is trying to claim that (spoiler???) because the hero and heroine knew each other from before and were in love from before, it wasn't instalove. But the heroine didn't know this when she fell in instalove with the "new" hero. So yes, it is still considered instalove. There was no connection whatsoever between the modern-day characters.
5. The heroine never had sex because she was "saving" (blah) herself for her true love. While her true love was out having sex with a multitude of women. Yay, double standards that also appear in 99% of romance books?
6. Because of the above points I really wasn't rooting for the hero and heroine to get together. Which is a must for me to love a romance book.
So yeah, I was disappointed with this one.

Leo edition by Mia Sheridan Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I read this statement in another review for one of her other books and it completely applies to this one. Is this the same person who wrote Archer’s voice? Seriously. This story is so weird. The characters are so extreme from one to the other. Evie is the sweet ever untouched by the serious issues of her childhood while Jake is completely damaged by all his experiences. She has worked hard to be in a safe place in her life but now comes a stranger and she believes everything he tells her. Kind of a pushed over. Jake, oh my goodness, his story and who he has become is kind of incredible and the way he treats her was way off putting. The statement about having sex without condoms, he decided that that was the way it was going to be between them and that was it! Very dismissive and cutting to her questions. A man who has openly stated that he has sleep around way too much while she had not.
Well, to tell the truth, I got bored, it was not appealing and the book could have done with more dates where the MC’s get to know each other better than so much sex.... I don’t mind the sex but there has to be a balance...
"He made it okay. When I was loved by Leo, I always felt like I would be okay."
24% through- We drive in companionable silence for a few minutes before my wheels start turning. I decide I need to know exactly what Jake Madsen's intentions are when it comes to me. << I want to know to. It has been so long since I read this book. I can not remember nothing about this book. So it feels like it is my first time reading it. I was in a book slump, and decided to re read some books by Mia Sheridan. Can not go wrong with this author.
I already feel like Jake holds all the power here and I know he's way out of my league,
"So, Jake," I say. biting my lip, "do you date a lot?"
"No." Then he pauses, thinking, and goes on, "There have been a lot of woman, Evie, but no, I didn't date many of them." He glances at me, gauging my reaction to that snippet of information, and then turns back to the road. "I'm not proud of that, but it's the truth. Does that bother you?" He seems troubled.
24% through...."Evie," he says quietly, finally looking at me. "What I mean is, when I F__ you, you're going to be mine. Is that clear enough for you?"
46% through- Jake and Evie moved up. I am glad it did not take til the end. It is good build up.
"You're mine now, Evie. Say it," he whispers.
My hand stills, and I look him in the eyes. "I'm yours, Jake," I whisper back, loving the sound of the words.
There is a twist. I kind of wish Evie, was a little stronger.
I did enjoy it. And would read more from this author.
I love the fact her books are not too long, there for it is not Too much push in pull, back in fourth. And things does not drag out.
This was a short, quick read that held my interest, but wasn't spectacular. Early on, it started to feel predictable, yet I still wanted to see how it played out. My biggest criticism is the overdone and unnecessary number of sex scenes. When a story starts to rely heavily on sex as a random book filler, it becomes awkward and annoying. Instead, in a 200 page story, an author should use that space to give us more story development. Also, since I've read a number of Kristen Ashley novels, I couldn't help but notice the many nods to her writing style in terms of character dialogue and descriptions. KA's writing style is very specific, so it was easy to notice those similarities. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but when it's fairly noticeable it becomes questionable. Overall, okay, but not entirely unique.
This book was a heartfelt story that dealt with several issues that many authors would not be able to write about with such compassion. She wove these issues into a story that is so much more than just romance. It is about finding yourself, growing, maturing, dealing with what life throws at you (sometimes in a healthy way and sometimes not). It was about a journey. One reviewer stated that they did not like the "insta love" - they must have read a different story, because this love grew over years. Leo is now one of my favorite books - the few that will be re-read over again when I want a dose of heartfelt romance combined with a HEA!!
